Exercise: Heart Rate Target
Date: Friday, October 28 @ 08:13:14 MSD Topic: Home Gym
Getting your heart pumping is the cornerstone of a good aerobic exercise. You can climb stairs, lift weights and walk around all you like, but if you do it at a pace that barely changes your heart rate, you're not getting the true benefits of a workout.
Raising your heart rate and keeping it there helps maintain your cardiovascular fitness, burns fat, and strengthens the heart muscle itself.
For a good aerobic workout, you need to get inside your target heart range and stay there for 15 or more minutes at a time. If you can do this at least three days a week you are on the road to increasing your heart health.
